This is possible and many of our customers have been successful with this method however is not recommended as you lose the support of the tent mounting rails and would need to drill new holes in the base of tent which will void the warranty.

Extra care is needed with all hard shell aluminium tents, especially throughout winter and in humid climates. A few tips to note are to always sleep with a window open, leave the 12v fan running to circulate the air, let all the heat escape from the tent in the morning before closing, try stay away from polyester bedding and always ensure the tent is aired out after rainfall and every few weeks. Escapade roof top tents also includes a microwaveable moisture satchel with every tent to help minimise excessive moisture.

Yes you can with the custom brackets we supply. If you are bolting your own awning to it, please check with an Escapade staff member prior to installing, as the awning weights vary.

The short answer is no. The rear tub section of Utes on all 4x4s are designed to flex when off-road. The Rooftop tents need to be fixed to either the cab or canopy but not both. Ideally you want the tent to be mounted to the canopy or tub rack at the rear with a 30mm gap between the underside of the tent and the vehicle cab.

Escapade roof top tents have an anderson plug mounted underneath and also come with a 3m extension cable. Simply plug the cable in and run it to your dual battery andersen plug supply. Everything is powered by switches inside the rooftop tent so it will not drain, as long as you remember to switch it off!

yes we highly recommend seasoning as it causes all the tiny stitching holes to swell shut and prevent moist being drawn through. Please see our other tab “Maintenance” for more info.

There are hundreds of different worldwide factories producing similar looking mouldings for aluminium rooftop tents. I highly recommend viewing them in person before making a decision as they all have completely different levels of quality with different inclusions. The tents require either a platform or 2 cross bars to securely mount the tents. Please be careful buying cheap roof racks. We highly recommend Rhino, ARB and Tracklander roof racks/platforms. We are suppliers of these products so please let us know if you need anything and we can organise some quotes.

We sure can! We have used a calibrated commercial scale to weigh our products and can confirm the tent and mattress weighs 64.2KG. (Excluding roof racks, ladder, fan and all other extras).

The Australian rooftop tent scene has become extremely popular with more and more similar brands coming into the market every year. A lot of these are simply rebranded Alibaba tents which you need to be very careful purchasing.
